Wait, what? |
Hi, I'm Angela. I'm a white, cis woman who would enjoy long walks on the beach but that means I'd have to leave my apartment. In my spare time I enjoy crying about tv shows, procrastinating on assignments even after they're due, and pretending my alcohol tolerance is higher than what it actually is. Things you'll find on this blog are Homestuck, comics, Teen Wolf, Doctor Who, and a variety of other fandoms and pictures of kittens and puppies. |
Why do we have an abortion rate 20% higher than France’s (and more than twice as high as Germany’s), especially considering most doctors here won’t perform them? The answer is any country that has universal health care, where contraception is free, where child care is free or inexpensive, where there is less poverty because people don’t become bankrupt over medical bills — those societies are simply going to have fewer unplanned and unwanted pregnancies.
And there the mask gets pulled off the Bart Stupaks and the “Christians.” If the statistics show that countries with government-provided universal health care and nearly-free abortions are, in fact, the countries with the fewest abortions, then why on earth wouldn’t the Right be the first in line to support universal health care?
Because it isn’t about “universal health care.” It’s about controlling women, period. It’s about sticking your nose in other people’s business. It’s about pushing your religious beliefs on everyone else because voices in your head tell you your Jesus is The One — even though your Jesus never said one single solitary word in any of the four gospels of the Bible about abortion or fertilized eggs being human. You’ve just gone and made it up about “life beginning at conception.” Jesus never said that. The little voice in your head said that, the same little voice that wants your grubby paws on women’s uteruses. You need help. Please get some help and leave the rest of us alone, Mr. Stupak and friends.

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has signed into law a bill that forces women to wait three days before they can obtain an abortion in the state; under the law, weekends and holidays do not count toward that waiting period.
And because patients would have to wait longer, legal abortion in the state of South Dakota is at risk
The local Planned Parenthood, which is the state’s sole abortion provider, announced prior to the bill’s passage that, if the bill passed, the group may no longer be able to perform abortions in the state.
And in North Dakota, the governor just signed three terrible laws that will almost certainly shut down their last remaining clinic and outlaw most abortions. Dakotas, WTF???
Please spread the word about the Abortion Assistance Blog. You can send in or find offers for transportation to the nearest clinic, lodging or a place to rest, babysitting during the procedure, funds, and people offering moral support. The only way we can even begin to help the people of North and South Dakota is if more people send in offers!

Anti-choicers have been using the private tragedy of a family without their consent to push their agenda, with no regard of the surviving family members’ wishes. Is what respecting life looks like?
Marie’s mother-in-law expressed to a reporter how upsetting the publicity has been and pleaded for her son to be allowed to mourn in peace. Instead, strangers are tweeting pictures of him with his dead wife, photographing him leaving her funeral, making accusations about their decisions, and “remembering” a woman he just lost and they never met.

Boom.
No.
An all powerful and omnipotent God would not plan out a whole big life for a fetus that they knew would be aborted.
^
Also, surely if God did decide out every single story and only wanted good people to be born, how do you explain mass dictators, murderers and rapists?
Please, at least think your arguements through before going through the effort of making a shitty comic about it, it’s really embarrasing

Actually, that second picture an baby at 8 weeks not at 12 weeks. What I had posted is a baby at 12 weeks. For the record, I didn’t post that to make people feel “ashamed” for having an abortion, I posted it so others can see that it’s a little living human being they could be killing. Hopefully changing their mind about having an abortion. I never said anything mean about people who believe in abortion so all of you need to back off. I’m not an “idiot.” This picture isn’t saying its a real baby. It says this is what we look like. So stop telling me its a sculpture of a real life one. It doesn’t matter. Real or not real, thats still what we look like. If someone thinks they can’t take care of their baby, then i personally think they should give it up for adoption so it has a chance to live instead of killing it. What if your best friend was a baby that was aborted? How would you feel if you knew they probably wouldn’t have been in your life right now because of that decision their mom made? This breaks my heart. Please reblog.
False.
This^ is what you look like at 12 weeks in the womb. This photo will not “save a life” - it only shames women who have had an abortion. And that’s not cool, bro.
Nope. You’re an idiot and liar. That’s not a fetus at 12 weeks. My father is an OB/GYN and I assure you, he has shown me actual pictures of fetuses at every stage. What you posted isn’t even a fetus, it’s a statue of a tiny, fully developed baby.
At 12 weeks, a fetus is not even near viable. Its brain isn’t close to being fully developed, its skin is thinner than paper and a dozen times more fragile. Organs are at minimal operations; its liver and pancreas have only just begun to function and are not yet capable of sustaining life. The fetus at 12 weeks is between 2 and 3 inches long. Its ears are just starting to shift to the side of its head and it can’t really hear yet, as the parts of its body necessary for hearing don’t fully exist.
If the purpose of your post wasn’t to make people feel guilty, then what was the purpose? To lie to people about the state of fetal growth at 12 weeks? To demonstrate your lack of understanding about human pregnancy? Because you did those things too.
At 12 weeks, the fetus is not a human being. At 12 weeks, the fetus is a parasite inside of a womb that has the potential to become a human. The problem with people like you is that you care more about a baby being born than being taken care of. You’re privileged and uninformed and it doesn’t occur to you that maybe that baby would not be wanted but the mother would be forced to keep it and it would live a horrible life. Or maybe it would be put up for adoption but because its not a pretty white baby, it would spend its life bouncing from foster home to foster home, unloved and unwanted.
Is that the life you want for your “best friend”? Do you know what the adoption system is like for the babies that aren’t healthy and pretty? No, you don’t, because you’re a spoiled brat with no real concept of the world around you. Until the day comes when there are NO children in need of a real home, that argument does not apply, not at all. There are a fuckton of kids that deserve to be adopted and they never will be because people only want pretty white babies.
Additionally, your ridiculous argument is a moot point, because if my best friend had been aborted, then I would never have met them and they wouldn’t be my best friend and I’d never have known anything otherwise.
Adoption is an alternative to parenting. Abortion is an alternative to pregnancy.
Those sculptures are made by assholes like you to say “this is a baby at 12 weeks! you’re a monster if you get an abortion!” So it actually does matter whether or not it’s a sculpture. I saw the exact same one in a presentation made by an anti-abortion group. I held it in my hand and told the presenter that the sculpture was inaccurate and I provided her with legitimate sources given to me by my dad. She had nothing to say after that.
You should be ashamed of yourself. Your picture is an incorrectly sized statue of a fully developed baby, NOT a fetus. You are wrong and your reasoning is terrible and you need to go sit in a corner and think about your horrendous life choices.

By taking bodily autonomy away from women!
And murdering abortion providers!
And bombing clinics!
And removing federal funding for breast exams and cervical cancer screenings simply because the organization also provides abortions!

Pathetic. You know, the notion of stereotyping a diverse group of people based on unfounded assumptions sounds awfully familiar … oh wait. Racism? Sexism? Newsflash: the vast majority of pro lifers are not terrorists, and do not condone such actions. Neither do we believe that legitimate medical procedures should be affected because of the abortion debate. Please stop misrepresenting pro lifers, and focus on the actual arguments at hand.
Yeah, you know what?
This isn’t unfounded.
The majority of pro-lifers aren’t terrorists but they create the environment that allows for pro-life terrorists to flourish. Pro-lifers that refer to abortion as murder and imply (or straight up say) that it deserves to be punished, or refer to abortion providers as “baby killers”, or feel it’s appropriate to misuse private medical information to send letters to family members of patients announcing that the patient had an abortion…none of that is factual but if creates an environment that allows people to truly see abortion as a form of murder (which it isn’t, as defined by law) and decide to take this issue into their own hands in the form of clinic bombs and guns pointed at abortion providers heads.
Pro-lifers spit out all this vitriol and hate and violent rhetoric about abortion but then stand by and hold up their hands when someone actually takes them at their word. Pro-lifers are responsible for creating pro-life terrosits and there are LOTS of pro-lifers who may not necessarily blow up a clinic or murder a doctor themselves but they’ll be happy about it because the doctor was stopped or the clinic has been shut down. It doesn’t matter what the means of doing it are as long as abortion is taken away.
And even if you don’t want to believe that, pro-lifers DO support legislation that teaches abstinence-only sex ed. They DO support legislation that puts restrictions on birth control to completely ban it. They DO support denying funding to organizations that provide abortions even though those organizations provide life-saving preventative care in the form of cancer screenings and referrals.
It’s not pro-life to remove funding for breast exams when breast exams could save people’s lives. It’s not pro-life to remove funding for pap smears to check for cancerous cells. People die when you remove those programs. If pro-lifers REALLY cared about life in all instances then they wouldn’t want to take away funding that saves lives. If pro-lifers were truly concerned about life in all instances then they would support legislation that increases comprehensive sex ed (since that is one of the biggest factors in lowering the abortion rate) and greater access to contraceptives.
But they don’t because pro-lifers want to punish people who choose to have sex.
Abortion IS a legitimate medical procedure. Do you have a medical degree? Only a physician should decided what are and are not legitimate medical procedures. And if abortion is truly not a legitimate medical procedure, why don’t pro-lifers also protest elective plastic surgery? People certainly die from complications from that much more than an abortion, which is one of the safest surgeries a person can have.
It’s not misrepresentation when it’s true.
Love,
Rabble
Thank you.
I’m so damn sick and tired of this “generalizing pro-life is bad” bullshit.
They are religious terrorists. Deal with it. If you don’t like that, don’t identify with that group.
